DANA HANDS
Offering yourself in an act of service is a practice of dana (giving) that can teach us so much about ourselves and how we are connected to our community and the world.
Dana Hands Volunteers honor Cloud Mountain and the Dhamma as they generously contribute to the wellbeing of the land, buildings, and sangha (Buddhist community).
Whether you can offer a few hours, a day, weekend, or longer, our volunteers create a community that feels like coming home and make a profound impact that will carry us into the future.
Dana Hands Survey
The Dana Hands Survey is an important tool to help us match the unique skills and aptitudes of our volunteers to the center’s needs. Volunteers strengths + meaningful work = Joy!

KITCHEN ASSISTANT

The Kitchen Assistant plays an integral role in the smooth operation of the Cloud Mountain kitchen. Working closely with the Kitchen Manager, this volunteer position will assume multiple responsibilities each day over the course of a three-hour period.
Meals, lodging, and the ability to attend scheduled sessions in the meditation hall (when it does not interfere with working hours) are all included with this volunteer opportunity. Although they are not an official participant in the retreat, Kitchen Assistants will have plenty of personal practice and contemplation time.
WORK PARTIES
Cloud Mountain hosts two annual volunteer work parties. These events are the perfect time to come together as a sangha in a relaxed, informal environment of work and play. There are always a variety of projects offered, which are suitable for a wide range of experience and ability levels.
We’ll have opportunities to work, meditate, cook, and socialize together, enjoying and connecting with Cloud Mountain and each other in a whole new way. You can come for a few hours, a day, or both days–whatever works for you.
We are grateful for any and all help you can provide as we all share in a field of gratitude that Cloud Mountain exists as a spiritual resource for so many. Come join us for the weekend and experience the joy of service and sangha!
STEWARDS
The heartfelt efforts of our volunteers play a large role in how we maintain Cloud Mountain. The energy and love that volunteers put forth in this cooperative endeavor can be seen and felt throughout this beautiful space!
Cloud Mountain has expanded our volunteer engagement with the integration of stewardship leaders. Under the guidance of Cloud Mountain staff, Stewards work together to plan and oversee projects that care for Cloud Mountain’s land and buildings.
