RETREAT DESCRIPTION
The Four Noble truths is the most widely known formulation of the Buddha’s teachings. This teaching invites us to explore deeply our own mind, heart, and body in order to free ourselves from suffering. The framework of the Four Noble Truths is not just an aspect of Buddhist philosophy, but a system of practices that we engage with directly, both within meditation and in our lives outside of meditation. The Buddha points us towards an experiential understanding of the nature of suffering and its cause, and offers a way to abandon that very cause, and to develop the path to freedom. This allows us to realize the end of suffering in our direct moment-to-moment experience.
This silent retreat, open to both beginners and experienced practitioners, will be dedicated to an in-depth exploration of the Four Noble Truths through our moment-to-moment practice supported by instructions, guided meditations, and dharma talks.
Carol and Greg will be assisted on this retreat by Tuere Sala.
