Lienchi was born into a Mahayana Buddhist family and began her meditation journey in 1986 with Thay Thich Nhat Hanh’s style. In 1994, she met Bhante Khippapanno, whose kindness and wisdom inspired her to practice in the Theravāda tradition. Since 1998, she has regularly visited Asia for monastic training. Lienchi has been ordained three times, each for one year, with Bhante Khippapanno, Sayadaw U Paṇḍita, and Sayadaw U Tejaniya. She has also attended numerous retreats, ranging from 10 days to two years, with Bhante Khippapanno, Luang Por Sumedho, Sayadaw U Paṇḍita, and Sayadaw U Tejaniya. Currently, she is enrolled in a four-year Teacher Training Program with Gil Fronsdal and Andrea Fella at IMC/IRC, set to conclude in May 2025.
In 2015, Lienchi left her career as an architect to practice full-time in Burma with her primary teacher, Sayadaw U Tejaniya, for two years.
In early 2017, Trudy Goodman, founder of the InsightLA Meditation Organization, invited Lienchi to teach. Both Bhante Khippapanno and Sayadaw U Tejaniya encouraged her to share her meditation knowledge and experiences with other yogis. Since then, Lienchi has been sharing her understanding of the practice through a natural and relaxed continuity. She has a practical, intuitive, and compassionate approach to developing wisdom through the cultivation of awareness.
Currently, Lienchi collaborates with several meditation centers in the US, including Spirit Rock, IMS, BBRC, IRC, and InsightLA, and provides online assistance to many yogis worldwide.
