DUE TO AN EXTREMELY LONG WAITLIST, THIS RETREAT IS NOW CLOSED FOR REGISTRATION.
The Buddha taught that continuity of mindful awareness, when accompanied by right view, can liberate the heart from afflictive emotions. The process gives rise to wholesome states of mind such as kindness, compassion, joy, and peace. This retreat will be structured in such a way as to support the practice of insight meditation, also known as vipassana in the Buddhist lineage. The days will be simple, which is conducive to settling the mind; there will be guided meditations, periods of seated and walking meditation, Dharma talks, group practice discussions, and question & answer periods.
To support continuity of mindful awareness, the retreat will be held in silence with the exceptions of group interviews, and question and answer periods. This retreat is appropriate both for new practitioners, and those who have been practicing insight meditation for some time.
Partial attendance is not offered on this retreat. Additionally, please consider attending this retreat only if your current life circumstances allow you to engage in an important modern renunciation practice of staying offline and off phone/text during the entire course of the retreat (some exceptions related to pressing family situations may be granted.)
