RETREAT DESCRIPTION
“The human body, at peace with itself,
is more precious than the rarest gem.”
–Tsongkhapa–
During this three-day silent retreat, we will practice gathering and settling our minds and turning toward the present moment’s experience with awareness and caring interest. The practice of insight meditation allows us to see clearly the nature of the habit energies that often drive our thoughts and cloud our hearts, and reveals a different way of understanding and relating to ourselves and others. A gradual deepening of wisdom, ease, and love is the natural result. Coming out of the swirl of self-preoccupation and speed, the heart opens and remembers the possibility of freedom.
This retreat is suitable for both beginning and experienced meditators. The quiet and simplicity of the retreat setting provides an optimal environment to receive the teachings and learn to practice in an extended, more continuous way. Keri will offer specific instructions for sitting, walking, and loving-kindness meditations, as well as evening talks and small group meetings.
Partial attendance is not offered on this retreat. Additionally, please consider attending this retreat only if your current life circumstances allow you to engage in an important modern renunciation practice of staying offline and off phone/text during the entire course of the retreat (some exceptions related to pressing family situations may be granted.)
