RETREAT DESCRIPTION

This retreat explores Dhamma practice, not only as meditation, but as restorative, healing lifestyle and a path of integration, awakening, and wholeness. We will offer meditation and movement practices that have served us and our students well, along with Dhamma perspectives drawn from both the Elder and Great Vehicles. We will focus on illuminating and growing sensitive to the natural rhythms of life and practice. We will explore the possibilities of both directed and undirected attention, that is, working with specific objects of meditation and not choosing any specific object.
We invite yogis to try out and experiment with these practices and perspectives, for the sake of finding good fits with your own needs, capacities, and life. We are curious about unentangled being, learning to let it guide life. Cultivating discernment is crucial to this process. As the exploration deepens, simplicity, friendliness, clarity, and intuition are revealed. This is not just an experience on the cushion, it becomes a way of operating all throughout our lives.
This retreat will be held in noble silence and will include:
• Learning about meditation posture and post-meditation self-massage
• Guidance on how to cultivate and balance tranquility and clear knowing
• Natural entries into expansive, effortless awareness
• Guidance on developing liberating wisdom and how it frees
• A simple system for turning life itself into transformative practice
• Daily heart practices, such as forgiveness and gratitude
• Qi-gong and other movement practices
Experience Requirement: To fully engage with this 2-week retreat, we ask that you have attended at least one silent, residential, Buddhist retreat of at least six nights and have a regular, at-home, non-app-based meditation practice.

Partial attendance is not offered on this retreat. Additionally, please consider attending this retreat only if your current life circumstances allow you to engage in an important modern renunciation practice of staying offline and off phone/text during the entire course of the retreat (some exceptions related to pressing family situations may be granted.)
