Vipassana, or Insight Meditation, is the art and science of learning to explore for ourselves the nature of our own minds and hearts. Through an open and caring investigation of our present moment’s experience, we deepen our ability to understand how it is that suffering or dissatisfaction occurs, and how it might be released. In engaging this ancient and time-tested process, we awaken our inherent potential for wisdom and compassion, ease and joy.
This two-day retreat will focus on the fundamentals of vipassana meditation practice as an integral part of the Buddhist path to freedom, or awakening. The quiet and simplicity of the retreat setting provides an optimal environment to receive the teachings and learn to practice in an extended, more continuous way. Although the weekend is primarily geared towards those new (or newer) to meditation, all are welcome who are willing to learn and explore.
